We’re back… and the Crisis of Innovation is on Google Books!

After a prolonged absence, we’re back on Waterstink! We’ve been learning our way around WordPress to enable us to post shorter stories more regularly than we’ve been doing up until now.

In the meantime, we’ve also discovered that you can now read a preview online for free of the book we wrote together back in 2005. It was called The Crisis of Innovation in Water and Wastewater. It outlined a dismal lack of innovation in the UK water sector as a whole.

It would be nice to be able to say that things have improved since. Sadly the UK water innovation situation is still as poor as it was even back when Duncan first began looking into the issue for his PhD in 1998!

Recently the final report of the Cave Review and a review by the Council for Science and Technology agreed. Sadly it also looks as though Ofwat continues to be ineffective in helping the England and Wales water industry to face the future, given its most recent interim determination. But we’ll be posting more about that very shortly…
